Supracondylar Fracture of Humerus

Classification:
          - 2 types

             : extension type (95%) & flexion type (5%);

Gartland classification for extension fractures:
- recognizes that anterior cortex fails first w/ resultant posterior displacement of distal fragment;
           - Type I: non-displaced frx;
           - Type II: displaced with intact posterior cortex;
           - Type III: displaced with no cortical contact;

Wilkin Modification of Gartland Classification
 - Type I: non-displaced frx;
 - Type II: displaced with intact posterior cortex;
            A: intact posterior cortex and angulation only
            B:  intact posterior cortex, angulation and rotation
 - Type III: completely displaced with no cortical contact;
            A: posteromedial
            B: posterolateral
